A PARTY to mark the first birthday of a care home turned into a double celebration after it was named as among the top homes in the south east.

Colten Care’s Wellington Grange in Chichester was one of just 20 care homes from a field of 3,118 in the south east to receive the accolade.

The award, from the guide to care homes, carehome.co.uk, is based on reviews from residents, friends and relatives. Wellington Grange scored 9.9 out of a maximum 10.

Davina Ludlow, director of carehome.co.uk, said: ‘Wellington Grange proved that they provide a high standard of care and we’d like to congratulate them on being a top 20 care home.’

Clare Gibson, home manager, said: ‘We couldn’t have asked for a better present to celebrate our first birthday.’
