TWO florists from Portsmouth have made their dreams a reality by opening their first shop.

Laura Adams and Sarah Bailey have more than 20 years’ floristry experience between them, and decided to grasp the nettle and go into business together.

They have taken over 224b Havant Road in Drayton, trading as Blossoms of Portsmouth, and have signed a three-year lease on the property, brokered by Hellier Langstone commercial property agents.

Laura said: ‘We chose Drayton to open our florist as it still has the feel of a village and is full of independent shops like us. As soon as we saw 224b we knew it would be perfect. It was very important for us to be open by Christmas and Hellier Langston worked hard to make it happen.

‘From the first viewing to our opening day was only six weeks.

‘We couldn’t have asked for a better start, the local community are so friendly and have made us feel so welcome.

‘With the support of our friends and family our little shop is thriving.’

The pair’s new neighbours include a newsagents, hairdressers, a bridal wear shop and The Rowans Hospice shop.
