DRIVERS were caught up in heavy traffic heading into Portsmouth this afternoon ahead of Pompey’s home clash with Luton.

A combination of fans travelling to the Fratton Park and shoppers and city visitors trying to get around led to roads being jammed.

Traffic was slow around Market Way and queues stretched back to the M275.

There were also hold-ups on Milton Road as police escorted fans to the Pompey tie ahead of the 3pm kick-off.

Southsea fire station say there have not been any other problems contributing to delays.
