HIGH street estate agents in the south will be done away with by online competition, according to findings by a property survey.
Smith & Williamson, the accountancy and investment management group, surveyed nearly 400 professionals.
Almost half of respondents felt the traditional way of buying and selling houses will be eclipsed by online estate agents.
Julie Mutton, a business services partner for Smith & Williamson, said: ‘The survey makes for troubling reading if you’re a high street estate agency in and around Portsmouth. The online estate agency model is building momentum and looks set to continue on its upward trajectory.’
