A BUSINESS event that last year generated deals in Hampshire worth an estimated £2.3m is to be repeated tomorrow at the Ageas Bowl.

Meet the Buyers, run by Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, brings major organisations who buy business services face to face with local suppliers.

Twenty-eight public and private sector buyers are confirmed including Hampshire County Council, Southern Water and construction firms Aspire Defence Services and Babcock Infrastructure.

They will have meetings with more than 100 business suppliers who have registered to attend.

Denise Barlow, head of communications and marketing at Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, said: ‘We are especially pleased with the strong showing for the construction sector.

‘Last year the event prompted an estimated £2.3m worth of deals.

‘This year we want to go further. We want even more small and medium-sized businesses to try and win contracts, so creating growth and prosperity for Hampshire.’
