FIRMS in the Portsmouth area are being invited to a free event to find out how apprentices could benefit their businesses.

The event is being run by Highbury College in the run-up to National Apprentice Week in February.

The breakfast briefing will take place on Friday, February 3, from 7.30am to 10am.

Amongst the speakers will be Dave Millwall, director of skills and technical vitality at Havant-based global technology firm Xyratex.

He will be speaking about how apprentices have helped Xyratex become the international success it is.

There will also be an overview from the National Apprentice Service, and the chance to hear from an established apprentice working for a firm.

Those wishing to take part must book a place in advance.

To do so, contact Karen Eggleton at Highbury College on (023) 9232 8878.
