A FALSE alarm led to some shoppers being evacuated from a shopping centre on Mother’s Day

The alarm sounded in Primark, in Cascades Shopping Centre, in Commercial Road, Portsmouth shortly before 2pm this afternoon.

Centre manager Rhoda Joseph said that staff acted quickly to ascertain that the alarm was false, however some shops
had already begun evacuation procedures and had put their shutters down by the time the incident was given the all-clear at 2.01pm.
