A FAMILY has spoken of their heartbreak after their beloved boxer dog went missing while being walked.

The dog, a five-year-old boxer called Angel, vanished on February 10 at 5.30pm while out for a walk with Logan Dann-Kirby, 14, and their other dog, a Jack Russell called Zorro.

They were walking across the chalkpits in Paulsgrove when Angel disappeared.

Logan’s mum Bex, from Paulsgrove, said the family has been left devastated by the loss – and that she believes Angel was stolen by a man who was seen nearby.

She has also issued a warning to other dog owners and appealed for people to come forward with information.

She said: ‘Angel was the runt of the litter so she was really small.

‘But she was our baby and at the end of the day we just want her home.

‘It is very stressful and we are trying not to think about the horrible things that could be happening to her.’

The man they want to speak to is described as in his early 20s, wearing a black Adidas tracksuit and he came near to Angel with a Staffordshire bull terrier with a flashing collar on

Bex, 45, said: ‘We highly suspect Angel was lured away and stolen but we have no evidence that she has been so we must do all we can to share the appeal far and wide to make her too hot to handle.

‘But also to raise awareness all around the area and search, search and search again.’

The family has launched an online campaign for help to find Angel, and they have been out scouring the streets, knocking on doors, putting up posters and handing out leaflets.

They have even flown a drone over the site looking for clues.

Bex said that Logan has been left shaken and upset by the incident.

‘He is mortified. He really thinks that it is all his fault but it’s not, it could have happened to anyone.

‘People need to be careful,’ she said.

Angel was wearing a red collar with the word ENVY on it.

A police spokeswoman said they were investigating the incident but they had no further lines of enquiry. They urged anyone with information to call police on 101, quoting reference 441170076684.
