THE achievements and success of two local solicitors within the field of insolvency and business turnaround have led to Portsmouth’s inclusion in the UK’s most influential guide to the legal profession for this specialist area.
The latest UK edition of Chambers and Partners, which covers 50 cities and counties in the UK, has named both David and Nick Oliver as heavyweights in the legal profession and subsequently brought recognition for Verisona Law, where the father-and-son team work, as the only firm named in the Portsmouth area for insolvency.
David Oliver, director of Verisona Law, is the only individual in the south to be given the title of senior statesman within the guide’s restructuring/insolvency section.
Cited as ‘a well-known figure in the marketplace, with a depth of knowledge and experience in restructuring and insolvency matters’ David’s entry goes on to quote sources who consider him ‘an elder statesman of the profession’.
His son Nick has recently relocated to Portsmouth after working in London for 20 years.
Nick has also been recognised as ‘bringing considerable experience in the full range of insolvency matters’ and being ‘particularly adept at handling contentious work’.
He is described as a ‘brilliant lawyer’.
Leading Verisona Law’s insolvency and business turnaround team, both provide specialist assistance to help individuals and companies in financial difficulty navigate the complexities of this area of law, and find commercial solutions.
They also assist landlords, trade creditors, financial institutions and insolvency practitioners in dealing with debt recovery and insolvency-related issues.
