A BUSINESSMAN has said that he still intends to launch a 24-hour cross-Solent ferry service, despite facing setbacks.

As reported, Paul Duffield from Nauti Boat Charters said he was going to start the first round-the-clock service from Portsmouth to Cowes.

This was due to start in January with 18-seater craft, although he now intends to use two 40-seat boats.

Mr Duffield said berthing negotiations and regulations had delayed the project.
