A WATERLOOVILLE firm will be representing the UK at the European Business Awards this year.
Hi-Tech Mouldings was selected as one of 50 national finalists, and will now compete for National Champion status in the next round of the competition.
But the firm’s staff will have a while to wait to know whether they’ll be among the winners, as the results will not be announced until April 2013.
Richard Brown, operations director at Hi-Tech Mouldings, said: ‘At Hi-Tech Mouldings we’re absolutely thrilled to be selected to represent the UK.
‘We’ve been operating for almost 30 years in the manufacturing sector and it’s an honour to be recognised as one of the leading organisations in our country and in our field.
‘The European Business Awards is widely recognised as the showcase for Europe’s most dynamic companies.
‘We’re looking forward to the next round of the competition.’
The European Business Awards has identified some of Europe’s brightest businesses based on their ability to demonstrate the three core principles at the heart of the awards programme.
The panel of judges were looking for organisations to represent the UK who exhibited innovation, business excellence and sustainability.
Last year’s European Business Awards showcased organisations with a combined turnover of €1 trillion, equivalent to 8.23 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product for the EU including Turkey, Armenia, Georgia and Kazakhstan.
These businesses employ over 2.7 million people across the continent.
Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards said: ‘Over the past six years we’ve received an incredibly high standard of entries from organisations that are passionate about their business.
‘However, very few get the chance to fly the flag for their country and compete across Europe to be recognised as one of Europe’s leading companies.
‘It really is an exceptional accolade to be picked as a national finalist, and together with our sponsors and supporters we’re looking forward to seeing Hi-Tech Mouldings in the next round.’
