GIVING staff acting lessons may not be at the top of most managers’ agendas, but that is exactly what they’re being invited to do.

The Shaping the Future of Portsmouth group is running the second in its series of Meet The... events, aimed this time at improving communication and presentation.

The Meet The Communicator event is being held with Portsmouth’s New Theatre Royal, and will be free to attend.

International training company Mission Performance will be taking the training, on Thursday, September 27 from 2pm to 5pm, and on Friday, September 28 from 10am until 1pm.

The New Theatre Royal’s director Caroline Sharman said: ‘It’s aimed at personal impact skills for people working in small or medium businesses, anyone who has to do presentations.

‘It’s for nervous beginners and adept regulars, and for anyone who has a fantastic idea but doesn’t know how to express it.’

The staff will be treading the boards at the theatre, presenting to other attendees.

Stuart Hill, who leads the Business and Enterprise Group of the Shaping the Future of Portsmouth initiative, added: ‘This is going to be incredibly high value for businesses.’

There will be a cap on how many employees each company can send, to ensure there is a good mix of attendees.

Each event will also include time for networking.
