A FITNESS firm has been named a finalist in an national competition.

Fareham-based Future Fit Training is up for a gong in the ‘innovative training programme’ and ‘large training provider’ categories at the Active Training Awards.

Managing director Rob Johnson said: ‘We were delighted to be recognised for these efforts last year when we won “innovative programme of the year 2014” and we hope to continue our success this year.’

The programme comprises e-learning courses covering behaviour change coaching, a course that focuses on the importance of understanding client psychology and ‘building your fitness business.’

Mr Johnson said: ‘We are constantly looking at innovative ways to lead the fitness arena and create relevant training solutions to meet the demands of a competitive and fast moving industry. Alongside employers, we identified a number of skills shortages and as a result created our innovative and unique PT Skills Gap Programme, providing new and established fitness professionals with essential knowledge.’
