WHAT is more welcoming than a colourful array of flowers?

That is the thinking of traders in Waterlooville who are brightening up the town centre this summer.

The town is set to become a blaze of colour over the coming weeks for Waterlooville in Bloom.

Kelly Tice, 37, who works at J Edwards Funeral Directors in St George’s Walk, is leading the project.

She said: ‘Hopefully there’s going to be quite a few of us taking part so we can have a competition. Hopefully it will grow each year and get better each year.’

As well as the blooms, a multicultural festival and a summer fete are in the pipeline.
