Jody, pictured with delegates, was guest speaker at Hampshire Chamber of Commerce’s fifth annual conference, which attracted nearly 100 businessmen and women.

The event at Ferneham Hall in Fareham, entitled Roots to Growth, focused on what is needed to develop and expand your business.

Speakers, including Jody, provided detailed insights into challenges and opportunities, as well as top tips.

Ferrari ace Jody, who was crowned world champion in 1979, touched upon his experiences running Laverstoke Park Farm, near Winchester, employing 60 people.

John Denham, the former Southampton Itchen MP and a former minister of state, also spoke.

Stewart Dunn, chief executive of Hampshire Chamber, said: ‘This was a successful event which helped our members learn by the experiences – good and bad – of speakers who live and breathe business.’

Hampshire Chamber, which has 1,750 members employing 150,000 people between them, is an accredited member of the BCC, which relays the wishes of its members to Westminster, informing economic strategy.
