ALE drinkers will be in for a treat when a four-day beer festival comes to Southsea.

Scores of real ales will be on offer for locals at The Marmion Tavern in Marmion Road from April 6 and 9.

The pub will be selling beers from local breweries including Irving & Co, in Walton Road, Drayton, and The Oakleaf Brewing Company, in Mumby Road, Gosport after it recently became a member of The Society of Independent Brewers.

As a member of the society the pub can order beer from any brewery within a 30-mile radius.

During the weekend beer bash there will be a meat raffle, a quiz and live music from international singer Ricky Zalez and soul artist Kellie G.

Landlord Paul Eldred, who has been in charge of the pub with his partner Gail Laurence since last year, said: ‘It should be a fantastic weekend. I hope everyone enjoys all the beer that will be on offer.’
