Mark said: ‘Responsible business is not about how a company spends its money on philanthropy or good causes. It’s about how it treats the planet, employees, suppliers and the communities that give them their licence to operate fairly and inclusively for all.’

As part of Responsible Business Week 2017, the University of Portsmouth Business School will be working with Business in the Community to provide employers with an opportunity to explore latest thinking, share best practice, and find solutions to some of the challenges currently facing business and society.

Event organiser Professor James McCalman said: ‘We feel very proud to be able to host this event as we feel that universities are great places for responsible business practice to begin.’

The free event starts at 4.30pm at Richmond Building, Portland Street. For more go to port.ac.uk/
