FUNDRAISERS are celebrating the success of a Stubbington charity shop which has received thousands of bags of donations.

Barnardo’s opened the new store on The Green in Stubbington last April. Since then the charity has received more than 3,100 bags of clothing, accessories, homeware, books, toys and games.

Barnardo’s has also been supported by a group of volunteers who have contributed more than 3,380 hours to help with sorting the stock and serving the customers. The shop has grown from two to 10 volunteers over the past 12 months.

Branch manager Rayna Magee said: ‘We have an amazing team of volunteers who offer so much of their own time each week. Every hour is sincerely appreciated. We are really grateful to the local community for supporting us.’
