IT has been a labour of love for staff at CooperVision in Segensworth to raise money for Wessex Heartbeat.

The charity was nominated by employee Tony Gilmore who, alongside his wife Jackie, has fundraised for it since losing his son, 12-year-old Ryan, to an undiagnosed heart defect.

CooperVision has donated raffle prizes to the charity to help fundraise, and add to the £10,000 total that Tony and Jackie have already raised in five years.

The firm’s Rob Healey said: ‘We hope that our support will ensure that local residents and their families affected by heart conditions receive the best possible care.’
