FIRMS in the Portsmouth area are being asked to let their staff volunteer in the community as part of a national scheme.
The Business in the Community charity is organising this year’s Give & Gain Day on May 17, and firms can sign up to release their employees on the day to either volunteer with their own project or one provided by the charity.
‘We’ve always had a good turnout for Portsmouth, but we would love to have more,’ said Mike Toy, community impact and communications officer for the charity.
The theme for this year will be youth, and the projects focused on will be predominantly in primary schools or youth centres.
