MORE than 30 families tucked in to some delicious gluten-free cake at a day held to promote awareness of a new business partnership.

The day was held on Saturday at Kestrel’s Tea and Cakery, in Portsmouth Road, Lee-on-the-Solent.

It was organised by entrepreneur Sara Pollard, who runs gluten-free cake company Free From Temptation, which makes sponges,

Her business has joined up with other cake businesses Sweet Creation, Ollie’s Cakes and Cookies and O and O Cakes, which will now ice her sponges.

The companies have formed a group so that people wanting a celebratory gluten-free cake can get their orders quicker, as each company will focus on a specific geographic area.

Sweet Creation covers Portsmouth, Ollie’s Cakes and Cookies covers Fareham, Kestrel’s Tea and Cakery covers Gosport and O and O Cakes covers Southampton.

Ms Pollard said: ‘It will mean that people with allergy and intolerance won’t just have to come to me any more. And it means I can focus on getting my sponges perfect.’
