JERSEY port St Helier Harbour is to be upgraded by Gosport marina consultancy Marina Projects Ltd.

It will be involved in two projects. The first is to redevelop berths four and five within the harbour, and the second is to redevelop the Fishermen’s Berths.

The first scheme will include replacing an old bridge and an improved berth for the RNLI and South Coast Cruises day trip boat to use.

The second will regenerate the ageing pontoons used by the island’s fishing fleet.

David Tisdale, Capex manager for Ports of Jersey, said: ‘We are pleased to continue our work with Marina Projects.

‘We have many exciting plans for the island’s marine leisure industry and the outstanding experience and expertise that Marina Projects bring will ensure that these plans are delivered in a considered manner and timely fashion.’

Phil Dunn, senior project manager at Marina Projects added: ‘Long-term associations like these are important to us as a business and highlight the benefit of our services to organisations and public bodies such as Ports of Jersey.’
