MCDONALD’S franchisee Grant Copper and members of his team met minister David Willetts to tell him more about the business.

The visit allowed the Havant MP to find out more about the opportunities for career development and the nationally recognised accredited qualifications offered while working.

During the visit Mr Willetts spoke to members of staff at the Bedhampton restaurant including those currently enrolled on the McDonald’s apprenticeship programme and Emma Lamkin who was recently voted employee of the year.

Mr Copper said: ‘My staff and I were very pleased to have the opportunity to meet our local MP.

‘As a franchised restaurant, we are essentially a local business, and I was proud to show Mr Willetts just how hard we work to ensure our customers get the best possible service every day.

‘The meeting was a great opportunity to highlight the investment we make in our staff, showcase our high quality kitchen and restaurant operations, and discuss the many changes we have introduced to our menu in recent years.’
