AN arts cafe is set to launch at the Eastney Community Centre this evening.

Graduates Rachel Green, Katrina Henderson and Joanna Malec have started a new business called 20eleven:arts, formerly Artpalava, to run the cafe.

Thanks to private funding, the trio have refurbished the cafe and will be exhibiting the work of Nigerian artist Toni Ndikanwu, a fine art student at the University of Portsmouth.

For the past five months 20eleven:arts has been exhibiting artists’ work and running community art courses.
