BUSINESSES in the Solent region have come together to promote the area as a great place to live, work and study.

The Business Solent group – which replaces Business Southampton – was launched at the Rose Bowl.

Business Solent serves the area from Chichester in the east to Weymouth in the west, up to Salisbury and Basingstoke and down to the Isle of Wight.

Walter Cha, who chairs the Shaping the Future of Portsmouth group and is managing partner of Blake Lapthorn, said: ‘It’s easy for us to be insular but we can’t do that – the region is bigger than Portsmouth or Southampton.’
