ANOTHER new shop is to open its doors at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth on Friday.

The popular Diesel clothing brand is moving into an empty unit within the shopping outlet destination, taking over the former Past Times shop.

Its opening follows that of Lindt, the luxury Swiss chocolatier; and Ugg, the premium Australian footwear brand.

Peter Emery, centre director at Gunwharf Quays, said: ‘As Land Securities’ flagship centre, Gunwharf Quays is very proud of its latest store opening, especially so soon after the opening of both Ugg Australia and Lindt.

‘The new Diesel outlet is a welcome addition which we are confident will be a hit with our shoppers.’

The opening of the new Diesel shop is a coup for Gunwharf, as it’s the first of the chain to open in the whole of the south east.

During the opening day, staff will be handing out gifts with every purchase and treating shoppers to beer and sparkling wine.

Mr Emery added: ‘This is a massive coup for Gunwharf Quays as Diesel is a hugely popular brand with a loyal following. We strive to offer our shoppers the best possible choice of luxury brands at affordable prices and Diesel is another prime example of this.’

Lindt rolled out the red carpet to its customers on August 18, and Ugg threw open its doors in July.

It is only the third store in the UK selling the premium sheepskin footwear at discount prices.

Mr Emery has said the key to Gunwharf’s success is keeping on top of which shops people want to see.

The outlet is Land Securities’ flagship retailer, held up as a benchmark of excellence to others in the group.
