A MOTOR apprentice from Havant has taken a top award for his dedication and hard work.

James Hunter, 21, who joined Cambridge Garage in Bedhampton Road as an apprentice in December 2011, has been named 1st Year Service Technician Apprentice of the Year for Volvo.

Accolades are awarded to the first, second and third year network apprentices who make the most impressive impact on the specialist trainers at the Volvo Training & Development Centre in Daventry.

James said: ‘I was very surprised but extremely happy. I love my job and eventually I would like to achieve Master Technician status which is only awarded to the very best technicians in the network.’
