A HAVANT business is using its equipment to maintain the world’s largest airliner.

Straightpoint Limited, based at Dakota Park, in Downley Road, is using its radio devices to calculate whether the weight of Airbus A380’s 29-tonne wings remain perfectly balanced before they go up in the skies.

The radios are being used at the Airbus aircraft construction facility at Filton, near Bristol, and at a £10bn Airbus programme at Broughton.

David Ayling, managing director of Straightpoint, which also has offices in America, said: ‘It is immensely satisfying to see that the awe-inspiring Airbus A380, an aviation marvel, is able to take off, fly and land due to the engineering expertise in our little black boxes.

‘We are very proud to play an important role keeping the UK’s aerospace industry flying.’
