A TOWN’S pancake day race is back after skipping a year.
Businesses are invited to take part in the event, in Waterlooville town centre, on Shrove Tuesday, February 12.
It couldn’t go ahead last year because of refurbishment works at the precinct. But now that has been completed the race is set to be bigger than ever.
Councillor Yvonne Weeks, who is in charge of economy and communities at Havant Borough Council, said: ‘The charity pancake race is a popular event that is enjoyed by the competitors and is great entertainment for everyone who comes along to watch.
‘I hope that local businesses will leap at the opportunity to be involved and raise lots of money for charity.’
In previous years, teams from banks, shops and funeral directors have flipped pancakes for charity.
The race is organised by the borough council in partnership with Waterlooville Business Association.
Bray Associates, who run the Friday market will donate £200 to the winning team’s chosen charity.
It begins at midday. To book a place call Sarah Flamson on (023) 9244 6483.
