WORSHIPPERS are being encouraged to turn up to church in a onesie or smart clothes for two worthy causes.

City Life Church, in Baffins, Portsmouth, is holding the ‘Onesie or Well Dressed Sunday’ event on Sunday, March 1.

Those who turn up in a onesie, suit or dress will be encouraged to donate money to Solent MS Therapy Centre and Centrepoint.

Dan Harman, pastor of City Life Church, who has read a bible reading at the altar in a onesie before, said: ‘I believe that we have a responsibility to make a positive difference in the world, and one of the ways we can do that is by simply doing our bit to raise money for worthwhile causes such as the Solent MS Therapy Centre and Centrepoint.

‘On top of that, we believe that church should be fun and enjoyable. ‘

He added: ‘We also want to communicate to people that it doesn’t matter whether you’re completely dressed down wearing a onesie, or you’re dressed up real smart, or anything in between, you are welcome.’
