PEOPLE are being given a say on plans to improve the A27.

A series of exhibitions will outline the five options to upgrade the A27 Chichester bypass.

Motorists will be left with a project that has cost as much as £280m or as little as £46m.

That is the gulf between the most comprehensive and least comprehensive of the projects being considered.

Documents show five options being considered to upgrade the 3.5-mile stretch after contentious draft options for either a northern or part southern route were dropped in March.

Among the options are flyovers built at the Fishbourne and Bognor Road roundabouts.

Following the 10-week consultation, the government will announce the preferred route. The next exhibition takes place at Chichester Assembly Rooms on Monday from 10am to 8pm.
