Have your say

COMMENTS on a proposal to offer discounts on business rates at the new Solent Enterprise Zone at Daedalus, Lee-on-the-Solent, have to be in by Tuesday.

Businesses in the Solent Enterprise Zone could benefit from a discount on rates worth up to £55,000 a year up to a maximum of £275,000 over five years, provided they set up within the zone before March 2015 and meet the eligibility criteria.

Plans have already been approved for the Enterprise Zone, which will support local economic growth and create around 3,500 new jobs on the site by 2026.

Gary Jeffries, director of the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership, which is working with local authority partners and the Homes and Communities Agency to deliver the Enterprise Zone, said: ‘It is important that local companies and residents have their say on our proposal to create an internationally-renowned centre for advanced manufacturing in the Solent, which will play a big part in bringing new businesses and, ultimately, more jobs to the area.’

To take part in the consultation see fareham.gov.uk/haveyoursay.

All responses must be in by 5pm.
