BENTLEY Walker, a Hayling based satellite internet provider, has been selected as the service provider for a trial of satellite broadband technology by Hampshire County Council.

The council is offering a grant of up to £300 for 10-15 local households and businesses to take part in the trial within areas suffering from speeds slower than 2Mbps.

The technology used for the trial will be the Tooway system, which has recently been upgraded to provide download speeds of up to 18 Mbps across Europe, irrespective of access to wired networks.

Bentley Walker has been chosen to supply hardware, installation, service and support for the trial.

If you live in a rural area and would like to take part in the trial email broadband@hants.gov.uk with your full address.
