HAMPSHIRE’S high streets are likely to see more stores closing as summer moves into the autumn, according to corporate recovery specialists Begbies Traynor.

Julie Palmer, partner at Begbies Traynor’s Portsmouth office, said discount stores, which had seemed to be recession-proof, were feeling the pinch.

The firm will be issuing its Red Flag Alert in the next fortnight.
