Holiday park pays tribute to Dame Vera

STAFF and guests at a holiday park will be paying tribute to Dame Vera Lynn on her 100th birthday today.

The entertainment team at Mill Rythe Holiday Village on Hayling Island will be putting on a performance of musical stage show Songs for Victory on her birthday.

He said: ‘Dame Vera Lynn is an absolute legend in so many ways, and it’s great to be able to do something special to join in the celebrations for her 100th birthday.

‘All the team at Mill Rythe want to pull out the stops to pay tribute to Dame Vera and her key role in keeping the troops spirits high.’

The show was part of an entertainment break that took guests on a trip down memory lane to the 1930s and 40s at Mill Rythe Holiday Village – one of the original 1930s Sunshine Holiday Camps that went on to host military during the Second World War before reverting to a holiday park.
