A TIMBER merchant has raised more than £250 for the Friends of Sussex Hospices.

Covers depots across the region made the most of the World Cup mania and got more than 150 customers and staff involved in its ‘We’ve Got Football Covered’ event.

Representatives from Portsmouth Football Club also joined in with the challenge.

Customers paid £1 to attempt a top score, by shooting five goals at scored markers, with many making extra donations.
