GUESTS staying at the Hilton hotel in Portsmouth have been part of a Europe-wide drive to raise money to support disadvantaged children.

Small Change, Big Difference, backed by Formula 1 racing driver Lewis Hamilton, pictured, invited Hilton guests to add an optional £1 or €1 onto their room bill throughout October, November and December.

The campaign was run in 128 hotels across 17 European countries, and raised more than £119,000 for the cause.

It was organised by Hilton in the Community.

The funds will provide specialist medical, educational and sporting equipment, care facilities, training and activity-based learning.

The former world champion driver said: ‘Many thanks to everyone in Portsmouth who donated as part of their stay.

‘Together your donations have added up to make a huge difference to the lives of children in need.’
