A SOUTHSEA hotel has been rated one of the best in the country.

The boutique Clarence Hotel in Clarence Road, came 15th in the TripAdvisor’s ninth annual Travellers’ Choice Hotel awards. This was a place down on its 14th spot last year.

The hotel has only eight rooms and was set up in May 2008. The venue was voted the best hotel in Portsmouth by TripAdvisor last year.

But the latest accolade is courtesy of a poll of travellers organised by the travel site, giving it a nationwide profile.

The awards recognise the best hotels across categories including best budget, best luxury and best B&B.
