A HAMPSHIRE housebuilder has been given a commendation for his work.

Peter Harfield, who lives in Fareham, has been named as a first-round winner in the annual NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.

Peter, who works for PH Construction (Wickham) Ltd, was given the nod for his work on 192 Castle Street in Portchester.

Jim Lyons, regional director for NHBC, a UK standards setter and warranty provider for new UK homes, said: ‘Winning a Pride in the Job Commendation is a major achievement for any site manager.

‘Peter is at the top of the game, ensuring that the homes PH Construction creates are of the highest standard. Peter can be truly proud of this accolade.

For more than three decades, Pride in the Job has been a foundation of NHBC’s work to improve housing standards, encouraging best practice on site.

‘The homes our commendation winners have built are without doubt among the best in the UK,’ said My Lyons.

Peter will now go on to the regional heats. The winner of those will go on to a gala final in London in January.
