House prices in Portsmouth continue to rise

HOUSE prices in Portsmouth have increased, according to statistics.

Value of homes in the city have increased by 1.5 per cent in the last quarter and they have an annual growth of nine per cent.

It means that the average cost of a home in Portsmouth is now £217,300, compared to £214,100 in Southampton and £263,400 in Bournemouth.

Hometrack UK Cities Index revealed latest house prices and found that Bristol continues to register the fastest rate of annual growth (13.1 per cent) followed by London.

Liverpool had the highest increase in the last quarter at 4.1 per cent.

Southampton has seen a smaller growth in the last three months than Portsmouth at 1.2 per cent.

In the last 12 months, house prices in Southampton have increased by 7.7 per cent.
