A BEAUTY queen was so inspired by her love of pageants she decided to organise her own so that girls in the Portsmouth area could experience the same glamour.
Olivia Kimber, 18, held a show for girls from age two up at the Best Western Royal Beach Hotel in Southsea, on Saturday. It is the second pageant Olivia, from Waterlooville, has organised, last year holding one at the Waterlooville Community Centre.
Olivia, who is studying to become a dance teacher at Giselle Academy of Dance, said: ‘I enjoy pageants. I started organising them because there isn’t anything like this in the south, as most of the pageants are in London or Manchester. I thought it would be nice to girls the experience of competing in a pageant.’
Olivia is in the running for the title of Miss Hampshire 2014, due to be announced on March 15.
This is the third time she has been in the finals and she has also held the title of UK Dazzling Queen, Miss Portsmouth Supranational and Miss Team Portsmouth Galaxy.
Taking the title of junior grand supreme at Saturday’s pageant was 11-year-old Hattie Gotobed and the adult grand supreme title went to 20-year old Kimberley Dunn, from Portsmouth. The 30 entrants were asked to raise money for charity and the girls collected £612 for The Rowans Hospice.
