A NEW store has opened in Portsmouth creating 150 jobs.

The Range, in Portfield Road, Portfield Industrial Estate, opened on Friday – with visitors overflowing the car park.

It was opened by Lord Mayor Councillor Lynne Stagg and Pompey’s academy manager and former player Andy Awford.

The store is the fifth of its type to open this year and the 74th in total.

Chris Dawson is the multimillionaire owner and founder of the firm.

He said: ‘We are very excited about the opening in Portsmouth and we are so happy to see so many shoppers come to the store today it makes all the hard work to get the store ready worthwhile.

‘We are a fast-growing company and we truly feel that Portsmouth store will play an integral part to the companies continued success.

‘We believe that once the people of Portsmouth come and experience what we have to offer they will come back time and time again, as well as recommend us to their friends.’

As previously reported, Mr Dawson visited the Gosport store, in Gunner’s Way, Gosport, on Thursday, June 13.
