ONE of the city’s car showrooms has beaten 5,000 main dealers to be voted the best car dealership in the country.

The industry’s most coveted award was handed to Richmond Hyundai in Fitzherbert Road for scoring record customer satisfaction awards while increasing sales.

Motor trade bosses recognised that Richmond Hyundai Portsmouth has achieved what is seen as the ‘impossible’ in the industry as increased sales usually mean a fall in customer satisfaction.

The dealership landed the prized franchised dealership of the year at the Motor Trader Industry Awards.

A panel of expert judges were impressed by Richmond Hyundai Portsmouth’s constant improvement and a completely revised sales process.

They acknowledged the company’s ability to innovate and create fresh markets, its sure-footed management and the increasingly sophisticated operation at its modern site.

Managing director, Michael Nobes, said: ‘Our happy customers have won us this award so we are celebrating by giving every customer a £100 B&Q or M&S voucher this weekend.

‘We have been working extremely hard to make enhancements throughout our business.

‘Richmond Hyundai Portsmouth strives to deliver outstanding customer satisfaction and to support the local community, which leads to our demonstrable exceptional customer retention rates.

‘This industry awards is recognition of the quality of service we offer.’
