A FAST food chain has notched up a UK first with its latest outlet.
Grant Copper, Portsmouth-based McDonald’s franchisee, has opened his sixteenth restaurant in Bognor Regis.
It is the first of its kind to be a double-storey drive-through.
The new £500,000 restaurant has created 80 new jobs locally, and there are plans to help the new staff gain qualifications while working for the restaurant, should they wish.
Mr Copper said: ‘As a local businessman, I’m keen to ensure steady investment in the area and we’re pleased to be able to provide a significant number of new jobs.
‘We want to ensure they have a good learning ladder of opportunities ahead of them to benefit their career.’
Staff will be able to train for adult certificates in maths or English, or for a foundation degree in Managing Business Operations. They will also have access to training and development programmes.
The restaurant, in Steyning Way, will include free WiFi for customers, as well as an outside seating area and car park.
