THE arrival of superfast broadband to his constituency has been welcomed by Meon Valley MP George Hollingbery.

Over 33,000 premises now have full or partial superfast coverage, 2,000 of which have been funded through a government-backed initiative worth £15.2m.

Mr Hollingbery said: ‘This is vitally important to the rural economy, which needs reliable and fast connectivity with the outside world if it is to thrive.

So these are very welcome figures showing that this public money is topping up the commercial roll out very effectively.’
