ONE of the country’s top aircraft repair firms has just completed its 400th major project.

Vector Aerospace UK, based at its Fleetlands site in Gosport, maintains, repairs and overhauls both fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

The facility, which has four large paint and strip bays capable of taking aircraft as large as a Chinook, has carried out major surface refinish on a number of different rotary wing aircraft since 2008 when it acquired the site from the Ministry of Defence.

Dave Ford, head of technical services at Fleetlands, said: ‘This is another terrific milestone in the history of our refinish and paint facility.

‘It shows how well our team has adapted to the ever changing requirements in today’s aerospace environment.

‘Being flexible in meeting our customers’ expectations has always been our goal and this throughput of aircraft shows just how well this is being done.

‘We continue to work with customers, long established and new, delivering a service that all involved are proud of.’
