FIRE protection equipment designed by Havant-based Apollo has been chosen to protect a new museum in Bristol.

The M Shed tells the story of the city’s history through extensive collections of objects, art and archives in addition to working exhibits on the harbourside, including steam trains and cranes.

The contract to supply, commission and maintain the fire detection system was awarded to Multi Alarm GB, which uses Apollo’s products.

Around 350 Apollo Discovery devices have been installed to protect the new museum, in the heart of the city.

They are controlled by a single panel which can tell the difference between a fire and steam coming from a steam train exhibit.
