A former primary school teacher and mother of two who created a music group for babies and children is celebrating the first anniversary of her new business venture.

Ruth Morgan, from Gosport, turned her love of music into a business opportunity by creating Melody Tots – a music, singing, movement and playtime group for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers.

She runs sessions at Tesco Fareham Community Room on Mondays and Thursdays, Crofton Guiding Centre in Stubbington on Tuesdays and St Mary’s Church in Fratton on Wednesdays.

She said: ‘The music, singing, movement and playtime sessions have been really well received since we started a year ago and we’ve already been nominated for a national award in our first year.

‘We’re also raising money for Naomi House and Jacks-place, which are hospices
for children and young adults.’
