A GLOBAL specialist in GPS applications has announced a new agreement with a technology company.

Orolia, based in Portsmouth, has signed a deal to acquire Techno-Sciences which is an expert in the field of search and rescue satellite ground stations and emergency response solutions.

Jean-Yves Courtois, chief executive of Orolia, said: ‘The acquisition of Techno-Sciences positions Orolia as the premier supplier of search and rescue products, systems and solutions globally.

‘It has established itself as a leader in the COSPAS-SARSAT [an international satellite system] search and rescue market for the past 25 years with compelling products, advanced technologies and in-depth industry knowledge.’

Jean-Luc Abaziou, chief executive of Techno-Sciences, added: ‘We are very pleased with this agreement.’
