AN APP that will help people find places to park has been launched in Portsmouth.
The app, called AppyParking, has been released in conjunction with Portsmouth City Council and is free to download.
It allows drivers to see all of the on-street and off-street parking options, including controlled parking zones, car parks, and registered residential driveways.
To ensure users aren’t stung by fines, the app functions in real-time, marking zones that are available to park in green, and closed-off areas in red.
In July, AppyParking won the Virgin Media Business Pitch To Rich People’s Choice Award, allowing it kick-start its UK-wide launch, following their success in London.
AppyParking’s chief executive officer, Dan Hubert said: ‘We’re thrilled to be working with the council to provide our free app to the city’s residents. Our Portsmouth launch really is an important landmark in our mission to take the pain out of parking.’
